Background
CalmStay Homes manages premium short-stay apartments across Kampala, Entebbe and Mbarara, from a single owner's home to 100-unit aparthotels. They sell stays to guests and hands-off income to property owners. With listings already distributed through Airbnb and Booking.com, their own channel had to compete properly: local payment methods, calendars that never sell the same night twice, and earnings owners can see.
Solution
A custom WordPress platform on a booking engine written from scratch rather than bolted onto WooCommerce, so availability and payouts follow nightly stays, not a shopping cart. Guests pay in shillings through Pesapal — MTN and Airtel mobile money plus cards. Every listing holds two-way iCal sync with Airbnb and Booking.com, with multiple feeds per property and health monitoring that flags a dead calendar before it causes a double booking. Owners get a dashboard for calendar, earnings and payouts; prospective owners get an income estimator built on real local rates. 20 listings live with sync verified clean across all of them, commission-free direct bookings, and a companion Android app on Google Play.
